The Londoner Macao Chosen as the First Destination Globally for the Esteemed Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève Exhibition
A celebration of watchmaking artistry 84 of the world's finest timepieces will be showcased for two days as part of TIMELESS
Sands Lifestyle, as the official partner of TIMELESS, is elated to announce The Londoner® Macao as the first location in the world to host the exhibition of the 84 nominated timepieces from the 2023 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) competition. The exhibition will be open to the public on Sept. 26, providing visitors with an exclusive opportunity to view the world's finest timepieces, valued collectively at approximately MOP 36 million.
Often referred to as the "Oscars" of the watch industry, the GPHG competition is globally acknowledged as the foremost annual horology competition. Recognising unparalleled watchmaking excellence and artistry, the nominated timepieces across 14 categories will be showcased within the exquisite setting of The Londoner Macao's Crystal Palace. This impressive, palatial, light-filled atrium, constructed in glass, iron and marble provides the perfect setting for aficionados, collectors and the curious to get up close to GPHG's best of the best for 2023.
The GPHG Competition
The GPHG annual competition is open to all watch brands and is designed to recognise production excellence in watchmaking worldwide. Among the luxury brands nominated and featured at The Londoner Macao are Hermès, Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chopard, IWC Schaffhausen, Louis Vuitton and Audemars Piguet.
The 14 categories include, Ladies' and Men's Complication: watches that are remarkable in terms of their mechanical creativity and complexity, Tourbillon: men's mechanical watches comprising at least one tourbillon, Calendar & Astronomy: men's mechanical watches comprising at least one calendar and/or astronomical complication, and Jewellery: watches demonstrating exceptional mastery of jewellery and gem-setting while also being distinguished by their choice of stones.
